Employment Law for Managers

An interactive workshop for people managers operating in the UK

The Challenge

Managing people is one of the most rewarding and most legally complex responsibilities in any organisation. One misjudged conversation, an inconsistently applied procedure, incomplete record keeping or a gap in understanding can expose both you and your employer to significant risk. Getting it right, however, leads to contented and productive employees, a culture that attracts great candidates, and an operationally effective organisation.

Addressing the Challenge

Our team of expert associates has developed a half-day programme to address this challenge. The result is a dynamic, practically focused Employment Law workshop that equips people managers with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the UK employment law landscape, from recruitment through to dismissal, and to make sound, legally compliant decisions in the moments that matter most.

The workshop presents various case studies which give participants an opportunity to analyse and ask questions, whilst expanding their knowledge of their legal duties and enhancing their appreciation of the need for rigorous compliance.

"Real-world scenarios, interactive case studies, and expert-led discussion which bring to life the importance of compliance and the dangers of getting it wrong. Delivered by one of the UK's leading employment law barristers."

What’s Changed?

The Employment Rights Act 2025 is the most significant update to UK employment law in a generation. Passed on 18 December 2025, the Act overhauls workers' rights and employer obligations. Its extensive reforms are being phased in to give employers time to adapt.

This presents employers with an ideal opportunity to provide its managers with updated training. The benefits of doing so are enormous; reducing risk to the organisation by equipping managers with the knowledge and skills to stay legally compliant, avoid costly litigation, and protect against reputational damage.
